"It's a happy day and I thank God for the weather
It's a happy day and I'm living it for my Lord
It's a happy day, things are gonna get better
Living each day by the promises of God's word"
Okay, not your typical "fall on your face crying Holy" worship song, I'll admit that, but believe it or not, this song has ministered to me in incredible ways. Think about it, really listen to the words and you might be surprised at the depth this little song carries.
It's a happy day and I thank God for the weather
It's a happy day and I'm living it for my Lord
How many times, even this last week have I complained about the weather? First it's too cold, then too hot, too windy, rainy...blah, blah, blah. We're all guilty of it, ignoring God's display of awesomeness in a thunderstorm, forgetting His sovereignty over everything, and missing a chance to rejoice in His power and majesty just cause it doesn't fit in with our pathetic agenda.
It's a happy day things are gonna get better
This little line, when so much around us is falling apart...it's so hard to believe that God really does work all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. But he tells us, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" Mathew 28:20, and "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11 It's in during these times that our faith is defined.
Living each day by the promises of God's word
I don't even know if I have to go into "depth" on this one. It's got it all right there. If we do live our days by His promises, then we will have that joy that no circumstance can ever take away and we can face each day believing it to be a gift from our Father.
One time a friend of mine made a comment about not being able to really worship with "Kids' songs" as she called them. I said nothing then, but in my heart I pitied her. She'll never know the beauty of those simple little Sunday School songs. They have a depth that is overwhelming at times to me. Here's another one that I'm sure you all know:
Jesus loved me, this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so
Jesus take this heart of mine
Make it pure and holy Thine
Thou has bled and died for me
I will hence forth live for Thee
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so
To me my entire doctrine is pretty much summed up between these two verses. Someone said that anyone can make something seem difficult, but it takes a very wise man to make what is difficult understandable to the simple. This is why children can be saved at 4 years old. The message that we are ALL sinners and we ALL need a savior is simple. Why do we crowd it out with so much philosophical junk? Here's another song, that you may know
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, no turning back
Though none go with me, still I will follow
Though none go with me, still I will follow
Though none go with me, still I will follow
No turning back, no turning back
What would the universal Church of Christ look like if everyone who claimed to be a Christian, lived with this mentality? Would your life look any different if you lived with this mentality? Try it and find out. Blessings to ya'll!

Dear Sarah,
I was blessed by what you wrote and agree with you, Matthew 18:3 "Verily I say unto you,Except ye be converted, and become as little children,ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
How simple the gospel is as stated in the above verse by Jesus.
Thanks again for allowing God to use your gift of writing to express His message on this blog.
Blessing to your family, Hermana Lydia K. <><
Thanks Mrs. Lydia!
Hi there,
I just happened to surf into your blog, when I was randomly googling on the "It's a happy day" song.
I must say, that I love childen hymns too and I hum and sing them from time to time! (I'm an adult in my mid-twenties... and yeah, friends tease me about it all the time.) "Jesus loves me, this I know" is one of my favorites too!
Keep on shining for the Lord! You'd never know who should surf in.. and who would be blessed by your posts! :)
